Little Lights: An Animation film for the 2015 MMFF

It’s been a while since I watched an animated film that is being shown at the Metro Manila Film Festival (The last one that I watched was RPG Metanoia), So here’s one of the nominees on the MMFF new wave category – Little Lights.

Looking at the trailer and the animation layout, I do think that It’s gonna be one of the promising animated films that will be shown soon in the movie screens.

Letting the lights out

Little Lights 1

The story of Little Lights is all about finding our own light – Charlie the firefly is a strong-willed little fella that despite being physically weak, he manages to find his place in the firefly community. He has his own struggles, but he uses his differences to stand out and to help others.

The story aims to inspire others to not to rely on the usual norm, but to find your own light and use this light for the common good. The visual and musical artistry of this animated will make everyone delight with awe.

Animation + music = one passion project

Little Lights 3

Little Lights is a passion project of artists Rivelle Mallari and Reginald Espititu. They had a vision on telling a story by combining the art of animation and live musical scoring.

The vector/watercolor-like feel, along with the touch of lightness is something that I’ll be looking forward to see in this animated movie.
